The hotel is situated just off the main Dublin road N5 as you enter Westport town. The town centre is approximately 10 minutes by foot and 2 minutes by car. Westport is located in County Mayo on the west coast of Ireland, 50 miles north of Galway and 160 miles west of Dublin.

The hotel's restaurant, La Fougere, is renowned locally and nationally for the quality of its cuisine and the variety of its wine list. The chefs use only fresh local produce and herbs from the hotel's own organic herb garden to produce modern Irish dishes with classical French style and various other international flavours.


Knockranny House Hotel's excellent conference facilities can cater for everything from intimate boardroom meetings to car launches. Two of the suites, The Nephin Beag and The Nephin Mor, can be opened out and transformed into one large conference area or ballroom. The other conference room, The McCauley Suite, is ideal for workshops, seminars and briefings for up to 30 delegates. We can cater for up to 500 people in theatre style or 280 for seated dinner in the Nephin Suite. A wide selection of modern audio-visual equipment is available on-site and the hotel will be pleased to source more from local firms if necessary. Wireless broadband is also accessible in all meeting and conference suites, as well as the Foyer, Bar, Dawing Room and Library.

Apart from the spectacular scenery on offer, there is much to do and see in Westport itself and the surrounding area. With links and parkland golf, horse riding, pony trekking, sailing and hill walking all available locally, sporting enthusiasts are extremely well catered for.

For those interested in the history of the town, Westport House and Country Estate is steeped in it and also caters for children with a small zoo, train rides and pedalos for kids. There are numerous other visitor attractions, museums and visitor centres in and around Westport. Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick's Visitors Centres are hugely interesting whilst the museums at Turlough and Ceide Fields are slightly further afield and concentrate on country living in times past. Knock Shrine, Clare Island, Kylemore Abbey and Achill Island are all relatively close by and are all well worth a visit. For children, cinemas, bowling, go-carts and swimming pools are available locally.
